Hi!

Does anyone know of a mirror for Jedi's ReiserFS FAQ? Or perhaps have
a local copy that could be emailed to me?

The link that I keep seeing referenced is:

http://www.jedi.claranet.fr/qmail-reiserfs-howto.html

But that site appear to have been down for the last few days.

Thanks!

I checked the wayback machine and found this:

http://web.archive.org/web/20031205013238/www.jedi.claranet.fr/qmail-reiserfs-howto.html

Don't know how current it is, but there's stuff there, anyway.

Thanks! This is just what I was looking for.

But, you do bring up a very good point regarding the how current the
information is. The modified date is Feb 19, 2001.

I guess I should ask if ReiserFS is presently the best journalling Linux
filesystem to use with qmail (Maildir) and if anyone has had any issues or
tricks to using the two together that aren't covered in Jedi's FAQ.

From what I've read, and I can't confirm this seeing as how I've only used ext2
and ext3 filesystems, XFS and ReiserFS are the two fastest journalling
filesystems. XFS is supposed to be faster with smaller numbers of larger files
and ReiserFS is supposed to be faster with larger numbers of smaller files.

This leads me to believe that ReiserFS would be the best option for a mail
server hosting several tens of domains and about 10,000 accounts.

Thoughts?

Thanks!
