Hi,
Just in case someone should find this useful, I've made available a
qmail patch,
http://www.dewmill.com/files/qmail-white-black-grey-rcptusers.patch
that integrates with Bill Shupp's greylisting patch,
http://shupp.org/patches/qmail-greylist-mysql-1.patch
to make it possible to turn greylisting and qmail-queue scanning on/off
per-recipient-user/per-sender-domain using tcp.smtp and text
configuration files.
The patch file contains documentation. Right now it is under a
no-redistribution license to avoid spreading the file in case it
contains any errors. If someone actually cares enough to review the
patch and assure me it "seems okay", I will change the license to allow
redistribution.
The release of this patch should not be taken as encouragement for
greylisting. I just believe the patch provides a working "compromise"
for systems where some users demands to have their addresses greylisted.
Also please note a fundamental shortcoming for the per-receipient
control of qmail-queue scanning due to limitations in smtp: for an email
with multiple recipients where only some are on the list for qmail-queue
scanning, the email will be scanned "for all receipents". If that is not
acceptable in your environment, you should not use the qmail-queue
controlling feature of the patch. (However, the limitation does not
apply to per-recipient control of greylisting.)
Best regards,
//Rickard |
